I've been remoting into my server with TeamViewer this afternoon so I can set up playlists in VLC Media Player. I'm doing that by going to a folder, selecting all the audio files in it, and dragging and dropping them in the playlist pane of VLC Media Player. The first time, i did that with 20 - 25 audio files. Everything worked. I just did that with ~600 audio files. VLC played the first file, then a couple of seconds of the second file, then started going trough the playlist playing one or two seconds of each track before it would crash to the next one. I was able to stop the playback, and? All the folders and files on the source drive for the playlist are locked. Rebooting unlocked them. Re: Transferring large file quantities Window 10 to Lite 4.2 fails - Valtam - 12-02-2018 I'd like to remote and see whats actually going on. Re: Transferring large file quantities Window 10 to Lite 4.2 fails - Valtam - 12-03-2018 We have worked through some things remotely. Fixed up shares, perms etc. Now we will wait and see ![]() Re: Transferring large file quantities Window 10 to Lite 4.2 fails - marcerickson - 12-03-2018 (12-03-2018, 06:00 AM)Jerry link Wrote: We have worked through some things remotely. Fixed up shares, perms etc. Now we will wait and see The problem isn't completely resolved. It's likely that two different issues were causing the problem. I'll fix the Windows folder permissions and report back. Re: Transferring large file quantities Window 10 to Lite 4.2 fails - TheDead - 12-03-2018 Hi guys, Had a similar problem last week. Had to activate SMB1 on Windows 10 and deactivate SMB2/SMB3 (this is done with two Powershell commands + reboot). You canz Google itz! ![]() Sorry for being mysterious but just a quick look in the forum and though I would help a bit, but I gotta go work, so it's just a hint ![]() Cheers! Re: Transferring large file quantities Window 10 to Lite 4.2 fails - marcerickson - 12-03-2018 Thanks. That's proposed as a solution for the Windows error 0x8007003B An unexpected network error has occurred. I'm going to try to solve my problem without disabling SMB2.0 as there are advantages to using SMB2.0, one of which is better speed. Re: Transferring large file quantities Window 10 to Lite 4.2 fails - TheDead - 12-04-2018 Another day, another thought! ![]() Maybe try and play with the Jumbo packet setting? Good luck! Re: Transferring large file quantities Window 10 to Lite 4.2 fails - marcerickson - 12-06-2018 I took ownership of the data folders on my data drive in my workstation and just transferred a ~19 GB set of files to my server while the server was playing music. It locked up after .5 GB was transferred. I rebooted the server and disabled the Widows Search service while the server was rebooting. I deleted what had been transferred to the server and started the transfer again while the server was playing music - this time all went well. It's definitely improved - but I'm unsure as to whether or not the problem is completely fixed. When Jerry was helping me the transfer went great for ~15 GB and then stalled out and locked up the target drive on the server not long afterwards. I'll do some testing on the weekend and make multiple large transfers to my server to see if the issue is resolved. Thanks again, Jerry, for your help. Re: Transferring large file quantities Window 10 to Lite 4.2 fails - Valtam - 12-06-2018 No problem. It's not a heat issue is it? Sent from my Mobile phone using Tapatalk |
