Never installed Zorin on a hardware machine, but still this video made my stomach queezy
.We must not accept this kind of behavior. The Zorin developpers may not have done this for "bad" reasons but even if you call it "negligence", it isn't reassuring.
When adding a "telemetry feature"or anything regarding user information, you should have to subscribe to each one independently, before hand... pretty sure it's required by law in a few places.
Also, obligatory mention of exactly what information is sent, frequency, etc. Not a vague "We'll get some informations, sometimes, from you, but don't worry about it, it's anonymous we tell you!"
Even better would be to have the default as "Disabled" and not permit a required "minimum telemetry" like the "basic" one in Win10, specially when standard operation does not require it.
Having a sub-sub-sub paragraph hidden in a bunch of legal-gibberrish, is clearly not what I mean here... :-S
Also, the more "anonymous" informations sent, the easier it is to pin point a specific user. It's like in a spy movie, each independant info IS anonymous, but once combined, you have the coordinates and BAM! Scud missiles party!

LINUX MINT TAKES A PHOTO OF EVERY USER AT THE BEGINNING OF INSTALL, AND SENDS IT
UPSTREAM IMMEDIATELY...
IF YOU HAVE EVER INSTALLED IT..I HOPE YOU HAD SOME CLOTHES ON.. LOL
