Re: Linux Lite 5.0 RC1 Released - icedigger - 05-03-2020

I'll have to try this out later this week on a couple of my machines at my one man computer repair shop.

Trying to get more and more people hooked on linux.

MSI Laptop - Intel 9300h and Nvidia 1650, or 1660, forget which gpu.
Alienware Laptop - Inte 7300hq and Nvidia 1050ti

And some VM stuffs of course.

Trying to decide what to use at work, KVM, XCP-NG, or VMWare?

Fun fact. 69 of the approx. 130 LL 5.x computers uploaded to the Hardware Database to date display UEFI. So, just over half.

Once LL 5.x is released I will be testing and using the OEM install on several newer machines, and setting them up to UEFI dual boot with Windows 10. These are welcome features to me and many users friends/clients that I steer into Linux. I will order a couple of DVDs soon as well and do a few network installs as well. Over time I will write some tutorials on those processes. I'm very excited about the new release.

I've put a lot of hours into the OEM side of things because it can really help us grow. I've written clear tutorials for both company and customer and even hacked the Ubuntu code to fix some of their issues and made it 100% LL branding. You're gonna love it TC.

Burn to USB via dd worked fine. Install alongside 4.8 and Win10 was flawless. I have been using it daily for a week now and the only issue I have found is on the lock screen. The buttons for Switch User and Cancel are whited out. Picture archive attached.

Re: Linux Lite 5.0 RC1 Released - kissbaby3 - 05-05-2020

on my Asus "Linux Only" 64bit desktop PC, i looked over my bios settings, i see UEFI, found  secure boot, its enabled, but dont show how to disable it, only shows two choices  "windows or Other" , not going to disable this right now, but might when 5.0 "final" comes out , so the question i have is , do i set it to "other"  ?, as a way to disable it ?.

Worked great on the Alienware laptop.

Wifi did not work on the MSI laptop though.

MSI G63Laptop - Intel 9300h and Nvidia 1650, or 1660, forget which gpu.
Alienware Laptop - Inte 7300hq and Nvidia 1050ti
