Xscreensaver tip! - JmaCWQ - 06-20-2015 Hello All, Just a heads-up with regards to running xscreensaver from a keyboard shortcut after upgrading from Linux Lite 2.0 to LinuxLite 2.4. The shortcut I use is Shift+Alt+S, set for the command /usr/bin/xflock4. On LL2.0 I used to simply hit those keys & GLSlideshow or whatever was set in Xscreensaver would start & password was required to get back to Desktop or whatever. I had Screensaver (Launch screensaver and locker program) checked in Sesion and Startup settings in the Application Autostart entries, command: xscreensaver-no-splash. After upgrading to 2.4 there's also Screen Locker (Launch screen locker program) set to auto start, command: light-locker. This one takes over the usr/bin/xflock4 command & all that happens is it locks the screen & xscreensaver no longer runs the slideshow or whatever it's set to run. Solution seems to be to terminate the light-locker process & uncheck it from the Application Autostart entries, once that's done whatever keyboard shortcut runs usr/bin/xflock4 then runs xscreensaver successfully. I'm not complaining about it or anything, just thought I'd post that in case anyone's having the same problem getting xscreensaver to run the same as I was, might save them the hour or so I spent trying all different things, none of which worked, until I figured out light-locker was running and what it actualy did.
