The PC is a Fujitsu Amilo 1703 (AMD 64), and is running Lite 2.8. Can anyone give me any pointers as to what might be the cause of the problem? Hope that helps ![]() Re: Problem booting after downloading latest update. - Arrocuda - 07-19-2016 Ran the badblock utility and it threw up almost 4000 errors, :-\ All clear for the first 14 g/b then error after error in consecutively numbered blocks of four. Looks as though the HDD is well on its way out. I can't complain cos I acquired this laptop off of my partner when she decided it was too big and decided to treat herself to a new notebook a few years back. Not the most powerful machine I have, but has been a useful spare laptop for lesser duties. Will be loading Lite on the replacement. Deffo the best of the lightweight distro's for general purpose use and I must have tried most all of them by now. Thanks for the heads up.... Tim |
