Display bug in network connection settings - JmaCWQ - 08-03-2016

Noticed this when LL 3.0 was released but forgot about it until now when I just finished an install of LL 3.0.
When changing the IPv4 settings in a wired network connection from automatic to manual all appears well when saving.

Open up the settings again & click on the IPv4 tab and the display of the netmask shows 24 instead of 255.255.255.0 like it should.

Click on the netmask entry to edit and it shows the entry being edited over on the left, partially covering the address entry instead of being in the position of the netmask entry in the middle that's being edited.

Doesn't affect the connection at all, just how it displays in the settings.

/24 is the same things as 255.255.255.0. No need to change it. Cheat code.

Interesting, only cheat codes I'd heard of before now are used for ZSNES.
Thanks.

EDIT: went to mark as solved but no solved prefix shown.

As far as I know the "solved" tag can only be utilized under Support categories.

Correct. This should have gone under Hardware Support, Network. Then it can be marked Solved.

Re: Display bug in network connection settings - prajik - 12-22-2016

Sir,
I have the same issue.
Netmask showing 24 instead of 255.255.255.0

My Internet is through proxy. I set proxy in Firefox's settings. It is working.
Also i set proxy in 'Synaptic Package Manager'. It is also working.
LAN also working.

But I cannot access Internet through Terminal (ie. for commands like 'apt-get update' etc.).
I installed 'dconf-editor' and set the proxy in it. But still I cannot access Internet through Terminal.

This problem is for LL 3.0 & LL 3.2.
I have used LL 2.6. and there was no problem.

Please Help.
