Here's my completely without shame, verbatim rip-off of someone else's answer on another forum.
You can set the transparency 0 to 100 in ~/.config/xfce4/panel/whiskermenu-XXX.rc menu-opacity=100 Have fun. ![]()

You have to enable display compositing in windows manager tweaks before you can use transparency.
Menu>Settings>Window Manager Tweaks, then click on the Compositor tab and click the check box to enable compositing. Hope that helps.

Ok that helped but just partially the sub menu its still the same.

I get the whole thing transparent. Wouldn't mind having the task bar transparent (other than the icons, of course).

I think the new menu has that slider avail in the properties menu
right click the whiskers menu icon select properties. You should see a slider bar.
I'v been bashing Windows way before Microsoft.....
