Download Stats on Linux Lite Website
#1
I'm working on some code that will count all http and torrent Linux Lite downloads. The end result is very simple, but the behind the scenes work will take some time to get it right and accurate. There is no way currently to include downloads from mirrors and 3rd party sites. This is a question I get a lot so I'm happy to include this information. Stats totals are from the beginning of LL, and are counted from Sourceforge.

I am sure these are more accurate numbers than what is shown on Distrowatch because anyone who downloads from this website can be presumed to at least tried Linux Lite. A more accurate way to measure actual users may be to count the number of up dates of Linux Lite. Is this possible?  :-\

This will be very useful to sites like LinuxCounter.com & DistroWatch. Considering how much attention this distro has gotten in the past two years, the numbers will probably be staggering.

Unfortunately, I'm on school Wi-Fi, so I can't see those stats from Imgur.com right now at least. Hey, at least this site isn't blocked like it was in the past.

The stats were just for demo purposes, the actual figures are now live on the download page - https://www.linuxliteos.com/download.php

The DW stats are a different type of stat. They're stats represent hits on a Distros DW page, our stats represent web and torrent downloads of LL. Any attempt to track actual users would be seen by people as invasive.
