You are correct, no subscription on Windows 10. But Windows 10 "is" the last "MS Windows", what come next..??
Say 2/3 years later,, Da Dah they announce say "MS NG"(Next Generation), I made that up,
but they will have something, and I'm pretty sure it won't be free..!!
I would hazard a guess they will offer a "Desktop as a Service" to the home/consumer market, all cloud based virtual.
with "real" media installs to businesses and devs.
MS don't do anything for nothing, It's all smoke & mirrors and spin...
