Dropbox panel indicator disappears when laptop lid closes and reopens

Out of curiosity - as I haven't installed Dropbox of yet (using the web interface) but may in the future..
I've researched just a bit after initially reading the post... Listed below are a couple of "trys" people have suggested and curious if you gentlemen have attempted - for when I get around to installing... As you may have already come across these..

Of course there are MANY other suggestions but thought I'd ask about these high level; I've added URLs for informational purposes...

• Was dropbox installed from Synaptic or from Dropbox?
  
• Installing the "App Indicator" libappindicator1 (it was mentioned Dropbox site includes it)?
