Thank you much. I am trying on a third machine today, a Lenovo Yoga. It has no DVD. Yesterday the one with a DVD could not catch the wifi (either with LinuxLite or Elementary) so I brought it back. This one I purchased a DVD with it. However, the only way I could get into BIOS was via the Win 10 menu Advanced Restore etc. But now even though it will be boot up into either the USB stick or the DVD disk, it hangs up after 2-3 minutes with either installation and am left with the lovely feather on yellow background. This is all making me seriously consider going back to Windows or even further back to Apple (had a Mac in the early 1980's). Things should get easier over time, at least basic things like installing an OS. They are not. It is, frankly, discouraging. And yet am not surprised.... Anyway, will take a look at your instructions. Maybe if I follow them in creating a new USB stick this one will work, though I doubt it given the same thing happens with both the DVD disk and the USB (meaning it's not the installation files, rather something to do with the hardware configuration...)
