I tried to get this post in the right place said I'd be doing so in my intro post but people seem to have missed that bit, so I've got replies there as well. Computers & I don't seem to mix well...
I do not believe [member=5239]torreydale[/member] is making fun by suggesting to copy and paste the terminal command, but he will answer for himself, timezones vary/or he may be busy.
Some newbies are a bit scared of typing in the terminal to begin with, or do appreciate the option to copy/paste, I copy/pasted often to begin with, until I became more familiar with its "movements", it can reel off a lot of text which can be daunting in an OS not familiar with at the time etc.
In your intro post you can click "modify" to edit, and change the details to something less likely to encourage replies, such as not specifying the machine or issue, stating you have a issue and have posted this in the right section.
Do you have an ethernet cable to connect the Acer Aspire to the router as you will need to d/l to fix ?
