LL & most Linux distros have always displayed a message in a secure shell, basically so you know where you are. However ** It may be the custom prompt configuration that is the issue. Try using a different default terminal application like lxterminal for one session and see if the problem persists or if you're comfortable enough remove the custom prompt from XFCE terminal. Also try SFTP with Thunar. If any of those attempts work without a problem then uninstall filezilla and reinstall. If that fails the issue is with filezilla and the custom prompt for sure. I use Reminna for SFTP so that I can go back and forth from Secure Shell and VNC if I like to test file changes.
