Printers (and other devices, such as MIDI controllers, MIDI keyboards, USB audio interfaces, etc.) usually create problems if you change the USB port. So you have to keep it connected to the port where you installed it.
But as it looks, it seems that the USB controller got fried off. I had this kind of trouble on three machines already. I had to give them up.
In this case, the only solution was to change the machine.
Changing the USB chipset costs too much and it requires a lot of expertise: service professionals.
