Howdy. Can you list examples of files and their permissions required to access them?
fstab usually handles this instead of sudo.
I can access my files in /media with 2 different hard drives in My AntiX 14 RVa3 Test box as a user because of my /etc/fstab entries, hand made directories by me in /media, and the command =loosey goosey command so don't use it= "chown -r user:user /dev/sd?"
Probably would help your cause if you gave more details and less emotion.
Used what? I read a whole lot of nothing there. Just generalities. So like you said.
What are the file permissions on what irks you?
Modify: I always make a backup 1st of my original root file like fstab before making any edits on a root text file like fstab.
Same same with any other file in /.
2nd Modify: Since a picture is worth a thousand words.
