Boots with Initial Progress Bar for 3 Secs onto Black Screen on Startup

Hi there;

    I have this distro installed as the sole os on my modified Intel Core i3 4010U chrome-box with an Intel Graphics 4000 GPU.  Okay, so my problem is this when I boot the system the inital progress bar is displayed for 3 or 4 seconds then all I see is a black screen.  Upon pressing the power button on my chrome-box, the system shuts down as usual.  I've typed this on my pc for convenience purposes and don't know if I'll be able edit this post to attach the error log later on from my chrome-box, if not it will be in the follow-up post.  Anyway thanks for reading my post and I hope we'll be able to resolve this in a timely manner.

Press F4 during boot up, this will show where it's getting caught up.

It says "stopping system v run level compatibility" found this post http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1823970 in the ubuntu forum with a possible solution, will try later to see if problem resolved itself with that solution and post back here. Thanks
