Will be installing LL 3 to a Samsung 850 evo ssd. Do I still need to follow the enabling trim guide in the help manual? Or will LL 3 setup it automaticly?

I would suspect something "special" like that needs setting manually, otherwise a SSD detection routine would be required.
I maybe wrong.?? There is some Info here on SSD & Ubuntu 16.04(LL 3.0 based on this)

Trim is enabled on a weekly basis. The Help Manual guide ensures Trim is performed each time your pc boots. This IMO is the best way to look after your SSD.

Thanks for the clarification, I guess I have become complacent because things seem to always work.
