Hello!
Like PPAs, it's best to only update the BIOS when it's absolutely necessary. If something goes haywire, you can end up with a bricked computer.
It was along time ago, but I updated a BIOS for someone once, and it somehow put a password on it. It ended up costing me my Dell laptop, as he was a business customer, and he HAD to have a working laptop PRONTO!
Hasn't happened since, but you know what they say: Once bitten...
