Thanks to your generosity, we've been able to purchase an HP Z800 Workstation. Dual Intel Xeon 6 Core (Hexacore) Processors 2.4 GHz, 12MB cache, 5.86 GT/s QPI, HT, Turbo, 16GB DDR3 ECC RAM, NVIDIA QUADRO 4000 DDR5. Kernel compilations that used to take hours, now take just over 30 minutes. From all of the Linux Lite team, thank you for your support!

Cool Beans.  Have fun with it. Here in the states. A poor mans version of the HP z800 workstation with  less than you received comes from certified Microsoft refurbishers for between 400 and 500 dollars.  No fancy graphics card included in the purchase.  Less ram. Fewer cpu cores. Your model sounds like the 1200 dollar version or more.

12 slots for ram?  48 gig or 96 gig ram capability? I guess someone will be saving up  their aluminium can fund.

Congrats on the new gear.

Cheers rok, max ram for this puppy is 192gb -> 12 slots, but I can't imagine needing more than the 16gb it currently has. May go to 32gb later to run and work on multiple VB's for LL dev and testing.

Hello!

Congratulations on the new tool, Jerry. Enjoy!

Right now, our ministry is looking for something super powerful like that to render and create videos. Though powerful in their own right, our current Dell i7 laptops just can't cut it in that regard.

As soon as our team returns from Russia later this summer, we'll start looking for one of those workstations ourselves...
