Hello!

If you're running another OS besides LL, I see GRUB Customizer in your future, as you will more than likely have to change the default OS back to LL every time the Mint kernel is updated. You will need it installed in both Mint AND LL. Boot Repair on a Live CD/Live USB is also handy to keep around, because (at least for me), using GRUB Customizer increases the need to occasionally repair GRUB.

More info here:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1664134. Also grab grub2-splashimages, via terminal or Synaptic.

I also have Lubuntu (soon to be Peppermint) on this netbook along with Windows 8.1, and use different splash screens for each installed GRUB, so I know which one to edit when I have to.

Hope this helps...

There will probably be a Legacy USB setting in your BIOS to fix the keyboard not working.
