Hi,

Can you do the following:
- plug in your USB drive
- open a terminal
- type the following command: lsusb
- copy the output and paste it here

I hope nomko does not mind a question or 2 as I am about to disappear.

Can you redo that lsusb command but not thru a hub and in a different usb port please?

2) Do you remember if you did any kind of formatting of this device?

3)  before you plug it in and only if you see a result, open a terminal and get root powers like this, then after sudo su
---plug in usb device and then run next command

only if you see your usb brand post the results pls

you can also pull the stick out and back in and repeat that last command....as we know its likely it not mounting

Code:
sudo su
tail /var/log/syslog

4) did you format this to some format like exfat?
Good Luck

anees1221,

If you can see the drive in the Disks utility, but not in the File Manager, then it may not be mounted.  Using the Disks utility, try highlighting the drive on the left hitting the Play button (sideways triangle button under the Volumes section) on the right to mount it.  If it's already mounted the Play button will look like a stop button (small black square).  Otherwise, you might have some formatting/corruption issues that would be better addressed by viewing this YouTube video:
