I was not able to get this driver (ANY Version of its build) to work correctly on LL. At the very best using the instruction on Ubuntu website, and a different C build you will get only 2.4Ghz b/g/n, it won't work in AC, dual band / 5Ghz. It will only work in managed mode, it will not work in any other modes. That is you must allow the manufacturer to control the use of the device you own.
Nobody on the this forum was able to help otherwise than these results, YMMV.
The cheapest option is a usb dongle using 3070, it costs £0.99 on eBay with interchangeable antenna, free postage, I use some of those. There are also unbranded and branded adapters (also 3070) I use these too, that can do in some cases longer ranges, you can also change the antenna to any of your choice on these too. 3070 is plug and play in LL, it is for 2.4Ghz only, b.g.n
